12 Steps to Change: Eighth Step, Forgiveness, Frees Man of Drug Addiction

1305

Mormon Channel shares Larry’s drug addiction recovery story in the eighth video of its “12 Steps to Change” series. Larry began using drugs as a teenager as a way to cope with the struggles he faced after his parents divorced and he moved in with his dad.

Larry decided to run away from the life he knew and went 13 years without speaking with his father. As he lived away from home, Larry explains that his life began to fall apart, moving from a cocaine addiction to a crystal meth addiction. Larry says he believes that his unwillingness to forgive others only fueled his addictions.

When Larry arrived to step eight in the recovery program, forgiveness, he was encouraged to make a list of everyone he thought had done him wrong. Although his list was long, Larry knew that his Dad would be the hardest one to reconcile with.
