The Word of Wisdom: Turning to God for Strength
A few years ago, Kaylee, exhausted from caring for her toddler and newborn, considered grabbing coffee for a quick energy boost. But instead of rushing to the store, she paused to pray, honestly expressing her frustration and asking why she couldn’t have coffee or tea. She even told God that if she didn’t get an answer, she would go buy it anyway.
Then, she heard a clear response through the Holy Ghost: “You don’t need coffee, you don’t need tea, all you need is Me.”
In that moment, she realized true strength doesn’t come from caffeine, but from God. The Word of Wisdom teaches that instead of seeking temporary fixes, we can turn to God for the energy and patience we need. Through this experience, she learned that God is the ultimate source of strength—physically and spiritually.
The next time someone feels overwhelmed, they can remember: they don’t need coffee, they need God.
