  1. I am pleased for you! My baptism date was August 10th--of 1994! Welcome! Elizabeth
  2. Hi, Lina. I just signed up for this site about 5 minutes ago. You are the first person that I am writing to. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my reply, and I hope that I can share my testimony of the Restored Gospel in a manner that will be helpful and encouraging to you. When the Latter-Day Saint missionaries knocked on my door in July of 1994, I was not currently attending any church, though I had been a member of several churches over the course of my lifetime. What influenced me to "hear them out" were the public service messages that I had seen on T.V. about love and family. Those "advertisements" made me feel something very good. I was a divorced mother of 2 children, and I needed some moral support to raise my kids. My son was on the verge of joining a gang, so I knew he had needs that I wasn't addressing. The missionaries told me about themselves and handed me The Book of Mormon, giving me a reading assignment. The only thing, positive or negative that I had heard about this book was that it was written by a false prophet. I decided that it couldn't hurt to find out for myself what on earth was in this book. So I did. "Why, this is nothing but a book of scripture like the Bible! It testifies of Jesus Christ all the way through it!" I said to myself as I began to read the pages. My joy grew as I read, and I took the challenge to pray to Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, to ask for a witness from the Holy Spirit that it was true, and I felt a warm, wonderful confirmation in all of my being! I wondered how it was that people thought it had been written by a fraud when all it did was testify and teach of Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God! There is a marvelous account in the Book of Mormon about Jesus's visit to and ministry in the Americas. How could anyone NOT want to read about THAT?? I testify to you, Lina, that the Book of Mormon is true--a second witness of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. But you don't need to take anyone's word for it. You can easily obtain the book and read it for yourself. I hope that you do, dear lady. Remember, God is not the author of confusion. All of your doubts can be erased, and you can know for yourself what is truth and what is not. If there are any questions I can answer for you, I would welcome the opportunity. Sincerely, Elizabeth
  3. Hello to all of you! It's exciting to sign up for this site in hopes of contributing to this outreach effort. I welcome your help and suggestions. I have been a member of the Church since August of 1994, when I became a convert to the Faith. The missionaries had knocked on my door for the first time 3 weeks earlier, and I had received their message and The Book of Mormon with joy and thanksgiving. Sincerely, Elizabeth
