Yep, what Anatess said.

Being what?
Exactly!

I'm tired of lists of do's and don't's.
I'd rather just work on BEING

Wow, are we really getting this far off track? First we see homes with an altar to the temple, now a celestial room? Pride.

Approaching Zion is a collection of some of his best stuff, and probably some of the easiest reading from him. Great insights in to money that seems rather prophetic of our current economic situation. As you can see, his name stirs-up a lot of conjecture among self titled intellectuals.

"God Grew Tired Of Us" A story/documentary of some of the "Lost Boys" of the Sudan.
Check it out. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My dad bought it a few years ago, so I saw it a couple times. It was really interesting, a very stark representation of what the church can do in a person's life. My favorite part was probably the end when one of the fellow band members sang "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief". It was a beautiful rendition which really captured the spirit of the song.
I would recommend that movie.
For those that haven't seen the movie the song referred to comes after the credits roll.
Nothing beats a real-life story of how the gospel reaches into peoples lives, no matter where they have been or who they call friends. Extraordinary piece of work.

wondering what the perception of this movie is among this group. If you have not seen it, do yourself a favor.

I have a family member that has been divorced and remarried (temple), been a bishop 3 years now. Not everything is done by the book I guess.
-
let's clarify; A divorced and remarried man can be bishop.
-
That would be incorrect, divorced men can be bishops. Most definitely not true. Divorce disqualifies a Priesthood holder from even being a Bishop, let alone a General Authority.

You have to look at SSM as having the type impact on society as the sub-prime market did on our economy, nothing bad happens for a while, then all hell breaks loose.
-
Oh, I could have fun with this one. I'd set up an incredible miss-match service for the gay "Sub-Prime Marriages"

I think going "topless" may be considered a gender specific sin. Err.... at least in the US areas of the church. So yes, there are gender specific sins.

That there's funny, I don't care who you are! By the way, what is Xango juice?

Almost tried to sell a case of Xango juice to a neighbor, gave it back to my in-laws and told them to get lost.

thought this might be a good place to have some mature discussions and dialog on fact vs fiction, dogma vs doctrine etc etc etc. And where we don't have to take ourselves too seriously.

I find it interesting that arguably the first ordinance in mortality is performed by women - Birth.
