  1. Yeah... thats a good example to support my earlier comment... and that is how it is done, and that is the pattern set by the example of Joseph Smith. To come full circle from where this thread came from... the times in General Conference Ezra Taft Benson spoke of political topics... e.g. conspiracies in the government... were not omitted, nor were they disfavoured by the First Presidency, so they stand as truth. That was the main point I was trying to support from the beginning. Whether they would disallow such a topic now or not is irrelevant, because it still stands as truth.
  2. Concerning your claim that the Brethren often speculated in General Conference, I could understand that they spoke on diverse things...which diverse teachings were nevertheless of truth, and i could understand that in the mid 80's, as you claim, they put focus on the fundamentals rather than diverse things... but speculation? I would like to know the source that inspired you to use that word. Now I know they might speculate in other arenas, but not so in General Conference I believe. If one of the brethren taught falsely, then the First Presidency would make a statement of correction in some way or another. This is the pattern Joseph Smith set. You'll notice at the end of the General Conference sessions the President seems to make a comment that the words of the conference were inspired and the like. I have always taken this as the Presidents seal of approval. I testify that wickedness is rapidly expanding in every segment of our society. (See D&C 1:14–16; D&C 84:49–53.) It is more highly organized, more cleverly disguised, and more powerfully promoted than ever before. Secret combinations lusting for power, gain, and glory are flourishing. A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world. (See Ether 8:18–25.) (Ezra Taft Benson, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, October General Conference 1988) Notice the year of that talk? Thats political isnt it? Furthermore, you will notice it is a testimony (revelation from the Holy Ghost).... isnt the very war in heaven political also? I know they do not talk about specific politics, and there is great wisdom in that, but that doesn't mean when they have done, it was false...
  3. No offense intended. I was not accusing, I was indirectly asking. lol. Whatever your political persuasion is, its none of my business to be fair... and I agree about there being many shades and colours, and after all, left and right is not a true picture of the political spectrum, left and right should be more like northwest to southwest, and on the other side is freedom (to put it into one word anyway for the sake of time). You are right... accept what the Prophets have said.... in other words what God has said through the Prophets, then you can know. Now, when that workers overthrow happens that your talking about, thats when Communism begins. Socialism is the process of establishing Communism, at least thats the way I understand it. I can not tell if the USA will get to that point or whether it will be saved before hand, or whether parts of it will or wont become socialist... I believe that it wont be Socialist in Zion.
  4. When the brethren are speaking in General Conference, they are speaking as Prophets, Seers and Revelators, because words spoken there are official church doctrine... but your argument can be had in examples like media interviews, or books that are not official publications of the church, and so forth... but not General Conference.
  5. You are quick to put down far right supporters LittleWyvern and seem to defend far left supporters... and if thats where you are, then thats your choice, of course... thats your viewpoint... but you know there is more than one way of doing things to reach the same goal, just because its not to the letter of the law according to Marx, doesnt mean its not going in the same direction... nor can you discount something only because it hasnt happened yet... and you know, people can lie... but their fruits never lie... it doesnt matter what a person intends as much as what their fruits produce... and the fruits of the USA federal government is going socialist no matter what your justification is... and any body who actually knows what socialism is, can see it as plain as day.
  6. hey... you know that many states are acting against Obamas "Marxist" methods... according to their own words... what does that tell you?
  7. Because the fruition of the NWO conspiracy will threaten gospel principles... in fact it already has throughout the earth, via the many different tools used - such as media, politics, financial systems etc - just look at the evidence out there, it's everywhere to be seen... Socialism or Communism (go hand in hand)... is the tool of the beast. In fact Ezra Taft Benson said that it is the beast. And the NWO will be socialist, do you not believe it? President Obama openly declared that he wants a left wing government, he is a socialist, and he wants the NWO to happen.
  8. I get what you're saying LittleWyvern and you are right within the context of political views. I'm sure even within the Council of the Twelve Apostles float different political opinions... but even that is speculative... ...however, when Ezra Taft Benson an Apostle, in a General Conference of the church - knowing that the words from these meetings are accepted as official, and are to be treated as scripture - and also when President Benson, as President and Prophet of the church, made statements in General conferences from time to time which reflects the message of the book "None Dare Call It Conspiracy" written by Gary Allen, then it is not just a political view, it is an official statement. No General Authority would ever share a mere political opinion in a General Conference, but maybe only a political fact.... as they do not use General Conference to influence peoples voting freedom. Not all statements of opinion are true, sure, but some opinions are accurate. Calling it an opinion doesnt establish whether the statement is true or false.
