Perhaps you can help me answer a question for someone else. I was born a member of the church and am fairly used to answering questions. It's been awhile since I was stumped. It seems like I shouldn't have been, the question is basic but I couldn't think of a good way to phrase an answer. I was asked about Isaiah 43:10. It says: You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. She asked why that didn't contracted the LDS belief that if we live worthily we ourselves can attain godhood. Because that would mean quite a few gods in existence after Him. She was very earnest in her questioning. I felt bad that I couldn't put together an answer that would help her understand better and not confuse her more. Can you help?
