Read the scriptures especially the (Book of Mormon) have faith and take the Holy Spirit as your guide my only prerogative is to aid in the establishment of Zion according to the commandments I have received. Vanity is not pleasing to God and has infact brought the whole church under condemnation. D&C 84:55-57 Which vanity and unbelief have brought the whole church under condemnation. And this condemnation resteth upon the children of Zion, even all. The law of Jesus Christ is the higher law. And as detailed in the book of Mormon the Law of Jesus Christ is given to this land. If the higher law was polgamy we would be practicing it now. Zion must be established according to the laws of Jesus Christ. The principle of monogamy is first established with our first parents Adam and Eve. Genesis 2:22-24 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Polygamy seems to have been one of the down falls that lead to the flood Genesis 6:2-3 states That the Sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all the chose. And the Lord said My spirit shall not always strive with man.... The flood is promised: And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth...Genesis 6:6-7 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8 And the Lord makes a covenant with Noah and Noah builds an ark and his family is saved along with one male and one female of various animals. The principle of Monogamy is expressed through out the Holy Scriptures even in our own D&C we read. Wherefore, it is lawful that he should have one wife, and they twain shall be bone flesh, and all this that the earth might answer the end of its creation. D&C 49:16 Note he said lawful! Polygamy was and is illegal in America and according to Noah Webster one of our founding fathers: the offender is punishable for polygamy. Such is the fact in christian countries." Webster 1828 In 1835 the Church accepted the Articles of Marriage as the will of God. The general population of the church followed the law of the land regrading marriage and the articles of marriage was and is harmonious with the laws of this land. Polygamy was practiced by some leaders in the church but was rejected by the assembly to be the will of God. It is my firm conviction that polygamy among the early saints is one of the things that frustrated the establishment of Zion. I am personally anti-communism/socialism and just about every ism imagined. The kingdom of God can not be established by the compulsory means of an earthly government be it a civil or church government. Nor can the Kingdom be established when the hearts of the children of men or set so much upon the things of this world. Behold, there are many called, but few are chosen. And why are they not chosen? Because their hearts are set so much upon the things of this world, and aspire to the honors of men, that they do not learn this one lesson— That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness. That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man. D&C 46:7 God does not work in darkness and he doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world! He restored the church and the established the covenant by 1831 according to D&C 22 and 49. Joseph Smith and others began practicing polygamy as early as 1831. Oliver Cowdrey, William Law, W.W Phelps were opposed to what Oliver called a filthy nasty affair. The book of Mormon clearly states that those who inhabit this land (America) must serve the God of this land who is Jesus Christ for it is his law given to this land. Joseph Smith taught that he and others did not have to follow the law of this land because it was the Gentile law. He even married already married women because of his false teachings. It is important for one to realize that, the Joseph Smith we know today, art created. Seek, Search and ask God to show you, keep the commandments, study his books for in them are written the words of life and he who diligently seekth shall find and by the power of the Holy Ghost things shall be made know unto them. For he says hearken unto me all the people in whose heart I have written my law. Listen, he will speak in your mind and in your heart by the power of the Holy Ghost yes the comforter who will teach us all truth and bring all things to our remembrance. Pray and ask the father in the name of Jesus Christ if anything is untrue and he will manifast the truth unto you yes peace, comfort and light in darkness. Listen, light can always be found in darkness. Pray, always and with the full energy your heart. Be prepared for we shall soon see his face... awake and put on the full armor of God... yes oil your lamps and go out to met him. As Latter day Saints we must understand that it is our responsibility to study correct political principles as well as religious. Not to be political but to proclaim liberty. As citizens of this republic and heirs of this Constitution we have experienced freedom, we have tasted of its sweetness and it sweet like the Gospel it protects. The spread of freedom and the Gospel are harmonious. We know, for it has been revealed, that the Constitution is inspired and that it is the law that makes us free. Heavenly Father established this republic for his own purposes, for the salvation of his children, that the law and the Gospel may go from this nation unto all others. The perpetuation of freedom is our greatest immediate responsibility...let me emphasize immediate. People can only accept the Gospel if they are free to do so! It is the spirit of Satan that brings men down unto captivity by the powers of earthly governments, for he still seeks to take away our free agency. There is secret combinations to over throw the freedom of this country and all lands. This is a battle that began in the counsel in heaven and we are now entering the final stages. Many of us have been held back by the hand of the Lord to come forth at this time, to prepare the way for the coming of Christ. We are a chosen generation. Much is required of us because much has been given and we will need bravery and boldness because we are enlisted in the Lords army at the end of this battle but fear not for he is with us even unto the end. Our sword is truth! Rejoice, for there are more that be with us, then be with them. The hosts of heaven are gathered to battle in our favor and God will preserve his people. Pray always, store up his words in your heart that you may be ready in the time in his wisdom to be sent out, to testify unto this people. What do you desire? Our desires in this life will leave a lasting impression on the life to come. Lets explore the importance of our desires and how they can bless our lives and the lives of others. Our desires are so important we will even be judged according to the desires of our heart. For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts. (D&C 137:9) We should diligently select righteous desires based upon Gospel principles. Our desires should be directed towards strengthening our families, blessing the lives of others, and building the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. Another, reason our desires are so important is that Heavenly Father gives to us according to our desires. Heavenly Father has said And then, behold, according to your desires, yea, even according to your faith shall it be done unto you. (D&C 11:17) Every person should desire to receive spiritual gifts. Gifts of the spirit are endless in possibility and you can receive them to assist in all aspects of your life. In many ways the Gifts of the Spirit can shape the events in your life. During our pre-mortal existence we developed talents. We possess those same talents here on earth. Our talents can be enhanced by receiving gifts of the spirit. The Lord instructed: Seek ye the best gifts (D&C 46:8) Heavenly Father has given all of us a spiritual gift For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God. (D&C 46:11) We have been given gifts to do good, to strengthen ourselves and others. Our talents and gifts help us assist in the work of the Lord. He has said: To some is given one, and to some is given another, that all may be profited thereby. (D&C 46:12) Developing our talents and gifts is expedient in fulfilling our purpose or calling in this life. As we focus on righteous desires and live the basic Gospel principles our lives will improve and our desire to do the lords work will increase. The Scriptures tell us: Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work; (D&C 4:3) Therefore, brothers and sisters I urge you to love and live the gospel principles and to desire the very best gifts. That you may experience the fullness of joy in this life and in the life to come! And that you maybe an instrument in the hands of the Lord and help him bring to pass much good in this generation.
