  1. Allright, piont taken. I have a couple of questionmarks I'd like you the straighten out. Here we go. I've read that you bealive America was populated by people from Israel first around 2200 BC in correlation with the building of the tower of Babel and then around 600 BC when Lehi(?) and his two sons Laman and Nephi came. And that these two sons became the fathers of two tribes. Lamans tribe didn't follow the word of god and therefor he was punished with a dark skin and that his ancestors are the ones today reffered to as native americans. Nephi stayed on the righteous path and therefor got to keep his skin color. These two tribes clashed around 300 something BC and the only one surviving from Nephi's tribe was Moroni who wrote down the history of his people. These were found by Joseph Smith who with the help of god managed to translate them into English and then started the Mormon church. In the same way that Israel is seen as the the promised land for the sons of Judah, America(maybe Salt Lake City in particular?) is seen as the promised land for the sons of who? Wich people is supposed to return to America? I've read that black people weren't welcome in your church up until a couple of decades ago. What is your current view on them? Where do they come from originally? I'm a white man living in Sweden, how come? Am I part of some biblical tribe in diaspora? I've probably gotten a lot of things wrong so please correct me! I'd be thankful for answers.
  2. Hi, my name is Nils and I'm studying high school religion at the moment. As part of an assignment I have a couple of questions regarding The church of Jesus Christ latter-day saints I'd be thankful if someone could answer. To be able to keep some oversight I'd prefer to keep the discussion in PM's. Any faithful Mormon is welcome to send me a message and I'll reply you with the questions as soon as possible. Thank you.
