  1. Thanks for helping me Understand The Doctrine Of Christ. I am grateful God Bless
  2. :) Like I said a discussion in futility. I see you your Moroni 4 and I raise you the Whole Entire NT! Here go your commandments! King James Bible Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Tim 2:15 Matt 22: 34Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’b 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’c 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
  3. We are saved by grace after all we can do....I was wondering when old faithful would show up. Please look at the date [between 559 and 545 B.C] So this would be just about pre Babylonian exile, but Lehi and fam have left so the Assyrians haven't descended. Hmmm Christ hasn't come, they are still living under the law. THe law was a system of commandment, ritual sacrifices and feasts. These were commanded to do. But Nephi like all other prophets, to him was revealed the coming Messiah so while the atonement had not been wrought they were bring their sheep, bulls, goats, lambs, doves grain, shekels of silver, oil, tithes etc...this is ALL they could, waiting for the Grace of Christ to complete the work! ALL scripture must be read in context Lets see vs 24 states what I jsut said: And notwithstanding we believe in Christ, we keep the law of Moses and look forweard with steadfasness unto Christ, until the law shall be fulfilled. Then in Matthew the Saviour said...I am come to fulfill the end of the law. vs 25 further explains they keep the law b/c of the commandments, yet they knew even before Christ came that the law is death [because the law is just and holy, and so is its giver, not the people who are to keep it]. THe law...GOD the law because the Israelites demanded it. Abraham is the Father of FAITH not the law. There is a reason we are under the Abrahamic covenant...life by faith in GOd and Christ, not the law. As for the sacramental prayer really???? the sacrament is for cleansing and healing and life!
  4. Okay... GOD does not want us to sin because we are not created for sin. We are the righteouness of God In Christ apart from our works. When you do sin as you call it which is always since we are human, we must understand that there is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Once you grasp how much God loves you, you realise he is not some nutjob task master wielding a list of commandments. He loves us and sees us through the mercy seat [propitiation] and the blood which is Jesus Christ and the atonement. THe eternal now is that GOD see us as he sees his Son PERFECTED While on the earth we go through the process of sanctification [that is the Holy Ghosts Job} Repentance is a rat race...there are deeper issues, called the root see EPH 3...you must be rooted in love, the love of GOD. Then you must renew your mind daily see ROM 12 :1-2 this means spending time with HF and JC, reading your scriptures and being in a relationship. Now if you want the stone cold commandments go for it...Deborah C is right...however repent is the word confess is, repent meant to change your mindset about an issue. 1John 1:9-10 covers this. Lastly my concern is not the masturbation or the sin, it is the worry about the Temple recommend. What did david say "against thee o GOD and only thee have I sinned" One more thing People before programs People before principles. A girl came for help, a human being and like the pharisees let us no levy hefty fines and yet the Saviour said I do not condemn thee....but by all means let us focus on go and sin no more, forgetting that only JC was perfect. She needs to know God loves her, then she needs to renew her mind with the word of God and be in a relationship with him and they will work through it together. I mean really?
  5. Okay I am done with the fruitless discussion. You focus on Commandments, I will focus on Christ...I'll take that any day over having to go through D&C 19.
  6. I am suggesting what The Saviour showed to be true. He has already fulfilled the ends of the law! I have nothing to expound, read it in the scriptures I haven't quoted anyone erroneously. I love this "the commandments" what commandments surely not the 10 headlines! Because if it is commandments you want to keep in the bible in the OT there 683 of them...not counting all the additions by Pharisees. So please tell what commandments you are so insistent on keeping and also tell how well you are doing. There are only two commandments Love God and love your neighbour. IN love are ALL commandments fulfilled.
  7. Yes, Yes, Yes...Please help me understand what it is about me that suggests I am not a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Saints???
  8. Ohhhh that is a good one I love it! Hmmm back to Romans...6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid It appears as always when talking to fellow Mormons its never about the doctrine of Christ, it is always about proving a point someone has to be right. You cannot be in Christ and believe that sinning is the order of the day. I mean really? Like Paul says he came to know Sin because the Law said don't... The scriptures also tell me that the LOVE OF GOD CONSTRAINS US...hmmmm it seems to me knowing that God loves you, keeps you safe, because you are Christ centered. Having to be constantly worried about a set of rules = self-centeredness and it always leads to sin. You know that! Ah Joseph Smith..."I teach them correct principles and let people govern themselves!"
  9. If I believed confessing to a man would make a difference I guess then I'd be Catholic!
  10. It appears that the quote you picked as your signature tells it all I say that we need to teach our people to find their answers in the scriptures...But the unfortunate thing is that so many of us are not reading the scriptures. We do not know what is in them, and therefore we speculate about things that we ought to have found in the scriptures themselves. I think that therein is one of our biggest dangers of today." --President Harold B. Lee, December, 1972 Rom 12:1-2 is what Pres Lee is talking. Repenting and Renewing your mind to think like God does are two different things. If you use Repent in the greek meaning it means to change direction. According to Syclla she has tried, repented, beat herself up and still she is in the mire. Clearly the masturbation or Bishops being Judges in Israel is not the issue here. Feast upon the words of Christ...they will tell you all things to do!
  11. Semantics is a great game. It's all good. I know that My Redeemer Lives. Here is to the Restored Gospel!
  12. Ahhh now the truth comes out! Looks like I just managed to prove the point, we are judges and jurors... I am so grateful to Heavenly Father who looks upon the heart and not the outward appearance because from what you said, had I not a testimony I would be offended, but I know you really believe what you said and you mean no harm. I on the other hand know that GOD loves me and Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten son of the living God who suffered, bled and died for me so that I can one day go back to the Father.
  13. I love that am I a Mormon...No I am not a mormon. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints...Just like Elder Packer said in General Conference. Goodness gracious
  14. Okay well It appears the point here has been proved that we are judges indeed if we are capable of deciding what is sin and what is not. Goodness guilt...how can one not feel guilty when you are told you will feel guilty if you {insert whatever you want}. I was only wanting the girl to see that GOD loves her not her actions be they good or bad. It is the Lords job to change the hearts of people. We try to do Gods work and neglect the "weighter matters of the law" LOVE LOVE LOVE that is what GOD has asked us to do. HE and only HE can bring to Pass the immortality and eternal life of his children. The joy of conversing with Mormons...always ending up in GOD's business when we can't handle our own messes tehehehehehe!
  15. Ha ha ha ha! Here is divinely guided by revelation! Why do we strain at gnats while we let whole camels pass through the gate. Do you people really think in a world that is devoid of Jesus and people do not not know how much God loves them and wants them to know His SON so that they can get back to him, you mean to suggest to me, that with all the soul saving that we have to do, our GOD is concerned about silly ridiculous crap while his children perish? WHo appointed anyone of us judges Rom 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Only God and Christ can judge and condemn. Let it go folks.
