Hello all. I resigned from the church 5 years ago and am now wanting to return. It is a long story that has probably been posted many times before but basically I was wrong. I left to find the real Jesus and finally realized that He had been there all along. I have a very strong testimony that all the ills of this world and of mine could be fixed if we would just simply follow the brethren. I very much appreciated President Hinkleys closing remarks at gc. He admonished everyone to read the talks as alot of "prayer and meditation" had went into their preparations. I am sure that it has been said before but this time I heard it.
Holland's talk was awesome as usual. He is so bold and no matter how I have tried to accept the trinity doctrine while attending another Christian church for the past 5 years, I cannot accept it. To me, it makes no sense on any level. There are very few churches, if any, that don't teach the trinity doctrine.
Obviously, there is much more to my story but my question is if you legally resign from the church do you have to be re baptized or do you just have to sign some papers or something? I will ask the bishop soon but I am looking for a "heads up" before I speak to him.
My name is Larry...please pray for me. I've had some pretty cool spiritual insights, feelings, and experiences since making my decision to return to the church. I appreciate the church and desperately need LDS friends, even if only through this forum.
