Until I get the recommended book, I now wonder: If the chaiasmus in the D&C isn't as compelling, then how did it get there? Is it coincidence (on some, I noticed there are phrases that don't fit, and you have to read through a few in order to find the next parallel item). Someone said that if it's from the Lord, then it can contain chaiasmus. But then, why isn't it as compelling? Well, perhaps I'd better read that book before wondering so much? -- Sam

Hi, Sam Richardson speaking. I've given my intro in the "Introduce Yourself" database, under "I'm New to the Forum." An evangelical pointed out that chaiasmus may have its place in the Book of Mormon, but not in the D&C, as this is a 19th Century publication, and chaiasmus was an ancient Hebrew practice. What do I tell him?

Hello, I'm Sam Richardson I'm active in the Church. My wife, Clara, and I are on an Inner City Service Mission. Before that, I was on the Stake High Council for 3 or 4 years. Before that I was a Gospel Doctrine teacher, a 1st and 2nd counsellor in the bishopric, a High Priests Group leader, and almost everything else on a ward level except a bishop and clerk. I went on a mission to Mexico (Northern Mexico Mission). I'm also Vietnam veteran. Recently, I started an LDS forum, called LDS Uplift. My son decided to start a debate forum. One non-LDS has brought up an issue that I need help on. So I assume I don't ask for help here, as this is the "I'm New" thread. I'll search elsewhere and see what I find.
