  1. Ahaha, long time no see people. Wow. What happened to the chat room? Don't trust us with one anymore? :P Anywho, just saying hi...if any of the old LDS.net people are still alive.

*clops about all sheepishly* (Cuz I'm a lost sheep apparently)

  2. Hey everyone. Don't know if the community here is still strong, but I just wanted to say hi to anyone I might know.

    *Waves a hoof*

I may not be part of this flock anymore, but I hope I'm still welcome here. I'm not here to cause problems. This website is where I used to vomit all my concerns, confusion, and worries, and then tried to put the pieces together into something legible...Um...Yeah...I probably could have used a better metaphor there.

    :P

Many people here caudled me, and told me to everything would be alright. Thanks to those people. A small hand-full told me to cut out my crap, stop begging for attention and pity. More thanks to these people.

    I've finally found myself. ^_^

  3. I think it boils down to--as jenn hints--the working relationship that is built among the members of the same units, and the degree to which some feel that relationship would be damaged if we bring homosexuality into the mix.

*shrug*. I've known guys in the Army who said it's no big deal. The opinion of one Marine I know is, "heck no". My impression is that the breakdown in the Joint Chiefs is actually similar--Army, Navy, and Air Force aren't too preoccupied with it at this point, but the Marines are holding out (or were, a couple of weeks ago).

That kind of thinking is why it took so long for blacks to be allowed in the military. Fear and paranoia trumping people's rights.

  4. No, it means that if you want to serve, you have to lie about who you are. In a 2008 Washington Post–ABC News poll, 75% of Americans – including 80% of Democrats, 75% of independents, and 66% of conservatives – said that openly gay people should be allowed to serve in the military. Why this policy has been in effect so long baffles me. What if we used that same policy on religions, race, or political beliefs?

  5. I appreciate the clarification, but I still take issue with your assertion that gay sex is not sinful per se.

You STILL misunderstand. I didn't say that. I said that gay sex isn't a sin, but fornication is. You can't have gay sex without committing fornication. Therefore, straight sex out of marriage is JUST as severe as gay sex.

  6. For example...you have a boyfriend, but you do not do anything with him that would be considered immoral. Like kissing, hugging, etc. Because gay sex isn't the sin, fornication is.

I just realized where people are misinterpreting this statement. Allow me to rephrase:

For example...you have a boyfriend, but you do not do anything with him that would be considered immoral, like having sex, but RATHER you are still kissing, hugging, holding hands, etc. Because gay sex isn't the sin, fornication is, and kissing is NOT fornication.

  7. What does the church think of people who are openly gay, but not sexually active. For example...you have a boyfriend, but you do not do anything with him that would be considered immoral. Like kissing, hugging, etc. Because gay sex isn't the sin, fornication is.

  8. Rawr!

New avatar. I didn't make it...I stole it like most people do. ^_^

The change is symbolic...I'm no longer a confused, lost, self-pitying sheep. Now I'm a confused, lost, self-pitying wolf!

    I joke.

I was just tired of the old one, so I decided to go with something that moves, and has NOTHING to do with my name. I like things that move....so.....hypnotizing......:bonk:

    Like is said.....

    Rawr!!!

  9. It's been months since I last posted. I just have a quick question. How to I quit the church? Besides going through an excommunication process that is. Is it possible to just ask that my name be removed without a trial?
