rameumptom Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Not all people have a wonderful NDE experience. And they often are tied somewhat to their belief system. Having said that, there are commonalities. Interestingly, Alma the younger's conversion looks very much like a NDE to me. People who I have known to be in a coma and come out of it, usually do not remember experiencing anything. Yet, Alma goes through 3 days of suffering until he repents. At that point, he is delivered by God and everything becomes wonderful. His description can easily apply to the experiences in Spirit Prison and Paradise. While many who experience NDEs change their behavior, it doesn't occur with all of them. I know a guy who had an NDE about 10 years ago, and changed his behavior for a couple years. But then he slipped down a very wicked pathway, lost his church membership, and has been bitter about anything and everything since then, too busy blaming everyone else to humble himself enough to repent and change. Some people are amazed that Laman and Lemuel didn't change after seeing the angel. Not me. I have seen many people take a spiritual experience and quickly push it out of their minds in order to continue down the primrose path to destruction.... Quote
