toto Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Today in young women's there was a lesson on making wise choices. As the teacher was speaking on certain topics that we all deal with in our daily lives I began to think. What kind of choices do I make? Do I sometimes forget who I am as a member of this church? Ever since I joined this forum I've noticed the amount of questions that we all have. The amount of problems we are all faced with. These days it's really hard to make wise choices. We all have moments that we just want to forget about all of these stupid rules that we have to follow as Mormons. Then there are other moments where we realize how important those rules are in our lives. I am so grateful for this church and the many blessings it has brought into my life. I just wanted to bear my testimony to you all that if we strive to make right choices we will be blessed. One more thing. I have a question to ask each and every one of you. Do you make wise choices? Do you abide by all of the rules? I know it can be frustrating, I've been there. Make the right choice. I love you guys. I feel like I know you. Thanks for reading my post. God bless.
deepthinker Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 this isn't exactly on topic, but, we had that lesson today too. and our teacher said, "no, what would you girls do if a boy came up to you in school and said, 'do you want to ge necking in the woods?'" and our entire class cracked up i jsut hought it was really funny, sorry. but on a more serious note, i think that it's easier for me personally to make correct decisions because i live in a place where the church isn't that prevelant at all, and so i see other people ruining their lives with these things, and so those bad things don't even seem like choices at all.
juliet Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 I agree with what deepthink said. I joined the church (at 16 years old0 to get away from those things. Theres no life with that- only bondage.
speedomansam Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 yeah. i think it's much harder to do what's right when you see friends and family make poor decisions. when non members make bad decisions, it's sort of like, "yeah, i'm not going to do what they did because i'm a latterday saint and i want to do what's right" but when other mormons make poor decisions it's like "hmm, maybe that's not so bad after all..."
