Guest tomk Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 We are all trying to "figure-out" how to love others as Christ does. "As I have loved you, love one another" is the request. At the end of the day...only Christ can reveal the "HOW" and give us the knowledge required to love others as He does. That is the most striking reason for seeking a close relationship with Him -- doing so, by its very nature, refines the revelatory process between ourselves and God. Put simply, there is no Charity without personal revelation. Not to discount the loving and kind things we do for others as best we can. We should be doing those things, even if we don't feel "inspired" or "guided." But actual Charity, Christ's pure love, cannot be seperated from Him revealing the deep actual needs of others unto us. Needs THEY might not even know they have. Needs which are a paradox to the natural man. For when Christ loves -- it is always the most needful thing. Not convenient or even easy...but the most expedient. Quote
