What resources do you use for keeping track of your food supply?! Has anyone signed up for trackmyfoodstorage.com? Not many people know about it and those who do may or may not know that a new version of the site has come out!!!

Its a great way to keep track of all the "stuff" and shop!

What other resources do you use and how much money should I set aside / month for food storage?

Thanks

I use a marker to date and rotate when I put new product on the shelves.

We don't set aside specific money, we have found that when we use our normal grocery budget to buy items on sale then we get extra items for the same money. This is our food storage. After you do this for a few months you reach what I call critical mass where your grocery purchases are 80% sale items only and this allows you to buy more foods. And provide flexibility to put extra on really good deals. The other item we use is store points. Airmiles or PC points etc. this allows us to buy storage items for free.

While the church focuses on food storage remember other items such as light bulbs, garbage bags, etc, anything you need to keep functioning counts as well. It is not just for disasters but unemployment, health issue etc. After our food storage got going well I added motor oil spark plugs etc.

Critical Mass Food Storage gives us about 20% more buying power for our grocery budget each month. And allows us to divert food money to other needs when an unexpected expense occurs and we don't have enough emergency funds to cover it. This has been a blessing this year let me tell you.
