In institute we have been studying parables and we all got asked to attempt to write our own parable .... this is my attempt not very good i know but let me know what you think :)

Once there was a brother and a sister whose parents had died leaving the children poor and homeless on the streets.

The girl felt that she wasn't very close to her brother, he never spoke much and each day for months he would leave his sister alone to wander the streets whilst he would dissapear for hours on end.

The girl felt so sad and alone and angry at her brother for leaving her like this.

One day she decided to confront her brother. she told him she wanted him to leave her for good and never come back since he had never done anything to help them.

But her brother would not be moved. She asked him why he wouldn't go since he was never there anyway.

He smiled and told her that he loved her and would never leave her. He then asked her to follow him so he could show her why he was never there. The girl followed her brother to a beautiful forest as they walked through the forest they came to a clearing in which stood a beautiful house with a garden, above the door of the house the young girls name was written in gold letters.

It was then that the girl understood why her brother was never there. He had spent days, weeks, months building his sister a home to live in and ultimatley giving her a future.

The meaning of this story is that sometimes we feel like god isn't listening or answering us but if we persevere we will see he has never left us he has just been working in mysterious ways to give us a future and a hope.
