I just heard Orson Scott Card being interviewed on the Rusty Humphries Show. Since I've been reading his novels since I was a boy, hearing his voice was electrifying. I wanted to scream like a teenage girl at a rock concert. Although I heard he was a Democrat, he certainly didn't come off as an idealogue on the radio interview. He was very critical of the Administration's handling of Egypt and other affairs in that area of the world. His analysis of world events is brilliant, as seen in the Shadow series, but even in the modern day and not in the future, he has an uncommon understanding of how countries interact.

Now I'm even more of a fan.
