KeniRee Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Hi Everyone,I am new to the LDS.net site but have been interested in finding out information about the Mormon religion. I have several friends who are Mormon and have discussed their beliefs with them on several occasions. One friend even gave me a copy of the Mormon bible. I have read some of it but am sometimes confused about it. My friend is really good about answering any questions I have while studying it. I did attend a service in my hometown once and quite enjoyed it; however it was a completely different experience than what I am used to in my home church. We belong to an Assemblies of God Church and have been members there for about 14 years. I have been married for 25 yrs this August to a wonderful man given to me by God, whom I love and cherish. We have 6 children, 3 of whom are adopted and the 2 oldest are in college, as well as myself. I retired early from the healthcare field due to serious problems with my back and decided to start over with a brand new career. I am in my last year of college. I hope to become a secondary education teacher of history, political science and geography. One area in which my friend has really grasped my curiosity is through food storage. I have gone to the warehouse with her once and was excited to be a part of it, if only for one day. I really enjoyed the work, the fellowship as well as the ability to discover a valuable resource for my own food storage. I had never considered food storage before going to the warehouse with my friend but have found that with the recent events in the Middle East as well as our own country, that I seriously need to begin thinking about and implementing a plan of action. I do have one question that I have been meaning to ask my friend, whom I haven't seen in several months, because she has been visiting her daughter's family in TX.The question is: are outsiders permitted to "shop" at the warehouse without belonging to the church or being sponsored by a church member? I realize that I would need to help package anything I bought and this would not be a problem. If this is possible, how do I contact the warehouse to let them know of my interest? I have checked the www.providentliving website but cannot find a phone number for a contact person on the site or on the order forms. The one thing I should explain is that my family does not have a desire to covert to Mormonism, mainly due to my husbands' conflicting emotions / beliefs about Mormonism. Thank you and God bless for any help you may be able to provide.KeniRee Quote
