The Promise of 1 Nephi 1:20

...But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you ..., to make them mighty even unto the power of ddeliverance.

1 Nephi 1:20

This is the great promise of The Book of Mornon and that is,..".that the tender cmercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith"

God loves his children and he wants all of us to return to him and be blessed...

He has give us The Book of Mormon for our day...to help...to inspire us-to lead us home but not apart from The Church...

This happens through repantance, the hope of all sinners...

David could pray...Psalms 51:1

" Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions."

This is our hope -This is what I would call a gateway verse that opens the whole Book Of Mormon to us...

Alma 34:18

" Yea, cry unto him for mercy; for he is mighty to save."

Let us Hope in God.

Yet some were not delivered, like Abinadi, the Apostle Steven, John the Baptist, or even Joseph Smith.

As Alma told Amulek in Alma 14:13:

And Alma said: Be it according to the will of the Lord. But, behold, our work is not finished; therefore they burn us not.

Some are called to seal their testimony with their blood, others are not.

it depends upon what your definition of 'delivered' is.

It could mean a release from immediate harm or danger.

It could mean a forgiveness (thus a release) of ones sins.

It could mean a release from mortal life.

It could even mean the power to release others from their sins (as in the case of Jesus Christ)
