ldsmember Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Hi Does anyone know where I can get the story that talks about a less active member not being happy with certain stuff going on in his ward and the bishop ask him, when was the last time he attended General Conference and the man says I didn't attend. Then the bishop asks him did you read the ensign edition of G.C. the man says no. the bishop asks did you go to church the man says no. and it goes on and on... I dont know if its even a true story. But I have heard it many times Thanks Quote
rameumptom Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 I think it was with Marion G. Romney. A man was excommunicated, and the brother came in to tell Bro Romney that he prayed about it and the Lord told him the stake high council came to the wrong conclusion. Pres Romney asked him if he lived the WoW, tithed, said his prayers, attended Church, etc. When the man said "no" to each of these, Pres Romney asked him how he expected to get a correct answer from God, compared to a group of men that were obeying all these commandments.
