Dravin Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 You can say 'black,' it's OK. I use black all the time when I write - that includes writing for journals. I abhor hyphenated American anything. I was born here. So were my parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. I'm an American. That and (bytor points at this) but African-American isn't the same thing as black. Nothing is more amusing then watching a black African, black Brazilian or a black Brit being called African-American. Quote
