I just found LDS.Net about an hour ago and decided to get to know the members of this forum.

A bit about me first. I joined the Church in 1970 and have held many positions. I am currently in the elders quorum presidency in our small branch in Salem, MO. I am married to the love of my life who unfortunately is not yet a member. We have 8 kids (between us) and 11 grandkids.

This evening we were reading the August 2013 Ensign and came across a question that I did not know how to answer. In the article entitled, "Worlds Without Number," D&C 76:24 is referred to. It says that Heavenly Father's children on other worlds are, "begotten" children of God. My wife asked how that could be when Jesus Christ is God's, Only Begotten son.

Any ideas on how to answer her would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks!

We are all spiritually begotten of Him, but Jesus is His only physical, biological Son.

Thanks for the help. I understand this scripture reference the same way that you do. However, I have always believed "begotten" meant physical reproduction. Spirit children thus would not be called begotten children. Apparently I have been wrong on this point.
