VisionOfLehi Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 I understand that when youth do the Called to Serve program they get set apart for the days they're being missionaries. Set apart as missionaries. Some youth I had talked to considered themselves to have been official missionaries (even since the boys were titled Elder) for those few days. But am I not right in thinking that missionaries actually receive some keys? And to be an "actual" missionary, doesn't one have to have been through the temple, first? Any insight would be great. Guest Lexish Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 I know when my brothers and recently my boyfriend went on their missions they went through the temple and received endowments. So while it is all cool and spiritually uplifting to be a missionary in the Called To Serve thing they don't get to "be" a missionary like all the other ones until some other substantial experiences. But they can still be a missionary insomuch as they try to spread the gospel, I suppose. Quote
