The Book of Mormon is often called the “keystone” of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church). If critics of the Church can disprove the Book of Mormon, the rest of the religion falls with it. In previous episodes, we’ve debunked a few claims.
In this episode, we address the claim that Joseph Smith stole the phraseology (the wording) from a book called “The Late War.” The book was published in 1816, more than a decade before the Book of Mormon. So is it true? Did Joseph steal the wording from The Late War?
