Boyd K. Packer, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently published a new book titled, “A Refuge from the Storm: The Priesthood, the Family, the Church.”

Packer divides the 24 chapters of the book into three distinct sections: The Priesthood, The Family and The Church. He explains that these three sections all connect together through the Plan of Salvation. Deseret News reports that the introduction to Packer’s new book reads,

The gospel contains the purpose, the doctrine and the plan. The priesthood is the power and the authority. The church has the means and organization. The exalted, eternal family is the end of the gospel plan.

Packer explores each topic through the telling of personal stories and experiences as well as with examples from Church history. Throughout the book, Packer shares his testimony and teaches,

The most precious thing we have to give is our witness of the Lord, our testimony of Jesus Christ.

Packer’s book is on sale now at Deseret Book and can be purchased for $25.99.
