Many members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around the world are uniting in a worldwide event through their testimonies of the Book of Mormon.

Janessa Hutchins and LDS missionaries Emily Blotter and Jaime Kloepfer created the “Discover the Book” Facebook event, inviting Latter-day Saints to share their love for the Book of Mormon with their friends on social media.

The creators of the event are asking participants to post a picture of themselves with the Book of Mormon on any social media platform on Friday, January 30. Participants should tag their picture with #DiscoverTheBook and include a simple explanation of how they gained their testimony of the Book of Mormon.

Participants are also urged to share a link to a YouTube video (posted below) describing what the Book of Mormon is.

The video many participants will share on January 30 is a new YouTube video that has more than 50,000 hits and explains what the Book of Mormon is and why we have it today.

The Facebook event’s page outlines the goal of the event, stating that they want as many Latter-day Saints as possible to participate in the event. It states,

The coming about of the Book of Mormon is the biggest news since the resurrection of Christ. People need to know what the book really is. We have a gift to share with the world.

Visit the event’s Facebook page to RSVP to the event and to invite your friends to participate as well.
