  1. you are in my prayers. the counselor is a great idea, since the stronger you are and the clearer your vision, the better your decision making will be. keeping an eternal perspective is important, the priesthood leaders can help.by that i mean that your purpose here is to have joy and progress, to return to be with heavenly father. i feel that a decision like eternal marriage is best made when everyone is at a clear level of mental health. sometimes medical treatment can be enough to help someone, but sometimes not.sometimes releasing someone to his own and heavenly fathers care can be more loving than standing by while their troubles impede your progress.healthy love dosn't hurt. love, aisling

hey, i have been off the site for a while, and want to reconect. after a long decline, my mother died last week tuesday.she was able to go as she wished, quietly at home. we spent the last year and a half together, i cared for her so she could remain at home. during this time, i compiled with her recolections and some other elderly relations memorys a collection of family stories. it was a priceless time, she could relive the events and revisit her growing up, and now there is a book going back several generations to help my grandchildren know them.her sight had mostly failed for several years, and i was able to read the book of mormon and most of the d&c before she got too weak to follow what was being said.she joined the church later in life, and even tough my parents were able to be sealed in the temple, she hadnt ever just read and studied the scriptures. it was such a delight to see her understand the concepts of the gospel clearer through the lives of the prophets. she was able to release the fear of death, which had always been a fear of the unknown, and prepare to see her loved ones again. tuesday, as she sliped closer to the next world, we held her hand and reasured her. she had been unable to respond for several hours. she sudenly opened her eyes, looking upward, and reached out her hand to someone, with a look of surprise and wonder she died. this has been a long journey for me, i took care of my friend who had cancer for over a year before she died , then two months later my dads stage four b lung cancerwas diagnosed, and i continued to work and help care for him till he died, and had to leave work for my mothers care. what the next stage of my journey has in store, i dont know. i have a feeling of peace. i hope that this is an ok place to speak, i didnt know which area to post in.
  3. welcome, you are among friends, surrounded by love, lets be friends
  4. interesting.i have found thet if i'm doing math problems for a while, it's hard to start a sculpture, but with a rest and a little wordless music, the inspiration starts. now i'll have to see if diferent brain focus activities will change perception of her direction.
  5. we can see many analogies as we consider the way our cardiovascular system works. we require our hearts to carry the essential fluid of life to all organs .to enable the nutrients to be brought, to oxyginate our cells, to enable cleansing and eliminatory systems to purify us, to propel the essential cells that can recognise and attack harmful invaders. it carrys the cells needed to clot and stop blood loss, and conveys the complex orchestra of hormones that brings harmony in our bodies. it beats with a precice steady pulse throughout our lives strengthened by the meeting simple daily needs of walking, the exertions of running, the jolts of adrenelin fueled fear, the pure nourishment prudently provided for nutritional fuel. if our heart muscle becomes inefficent through blocked blood flow from the great vessels(impediment effects of sins) or inadequate exersise(failing to do the basics, prayer, scripture reading, keepimg the comandments) over a prolonged time, it impairs the sucessful function of the whole body.a hard heart won't let us recieve the guidance of the spirit , denying us essential growth and direction, while the softened or open heart is receptive to the enlightening(nourishing)influence of the holy ghost, that brings learning, change of wrong behaviors(attack and removal of germs0 and the purifying(cleansingof our blood) of our minds and souls bringing us into syncophance with heavenly father.if i took more time the analogies could be more detailed, i'm sure. please excuse spelling mistakes. i'm new to some computer use and can't find the button to mash that will spell check on a message .skalenfel, you have a good concise expression of gospel truths, i admire your contributions. thanks
  6. welcome, there are some phenomenal people here, let your light shine!
  7. when thinking about any change or growth that we try to create within ourselves, i think of the scripture d&c29,31,32,and 34. for by the power of my spirit created i them, yea,all things both spiritual and temporal-first spiritual, second temporal, which is the begining of my work;and again, first temporal, and secondly spiritual, which is the last of my work-...all things are unto me spiritual, and at no time have i given you a law which was temporal...at first, we learn and consider the comandment. tithing may not work on paper or in our pocket, but then we begin to alow hope and faith that mabe heavenly father will do as he has said he would do. this change is the change or beginings of growth in our spirit , it is created spiritualy. then we exersize that faith, and pay the tithing , the temporal action . then heavenly father creates a temporal change in his love for us and his joy that we have trusted in him, and ways we couldnt percieve open up to provide blessings ; and each full tithe payer can testify that the windows of heaven have opened for them in unexpected ways. congradulations for taking the steps to reach out to the gospel, you will find you are comming home to a new home and family . welcome

  10. heavenly father and the savior love us, and are pleased with the level of truth we can recieve, but want us to learn a fullness of truth. this was the concept addressed by joseph smith as he prayed to know which church was right so he could join. he had a level of knowlege of truth from his parents and the differing beliefs by sincere christian denominations who's members and leaders he admired were confusing in their conflicting doctrines. he would have hapily joined any that heavenly father directed him to, and his pure and simple faith led him to trust that god would answer him. heavenly father thought the issue was important enough to make a personal appearance to answer, and as he did, the savior was beside him, teaching some of the plain and precious truths that had been lost, answering the questionby their appearing that they are seperate beings in whose image our physical bodies are made. we are directed by the savior to become one, like jesus and his father are one. no loss of our bodies but becoming one in love and purpose in seeking with all our hearts to build the kingdom of god.and since the worth of our souls are so great, as we feel the love of our savior within us and radiating out to others, how could a missionary or anyone not continue to try to reach out and offer such a message of eternal life and hope? when i learned about the church i was an active member of another church, and my father, who didnt attend anywhere but was a christian would lay in wait for the elders to come, having prepared many arguments to prove them wrong.the young elders were just a year or so out of highschool and no way prepared for my dad with his remarkable intelect and knowlege.however, they came filled with the light and love of the savior, and through the power of the holy spirit were able to bear the pure and simple truths of the gospel to us. he joined a year after i did, and i will forever be greatful for the courage and love of those young men to bike down the near ghetto streets of our neighborhood into such a hostile enviroment to bring the light of the gospel to us. it has been an unreplacable gift of love whos ripples in the waters of eternity will go on forever. love to you from aisling
  11. tithing is a principal of faith, and as we seek to draw closer to heavenly father, to learn of him and truly recognise the depth of his love for us, we understand that we are dependent on heavenly father for all that we have and are. he truly knows us, and loves us and sees beyond the faults to the infinite potential he has given each of us. tithing is one of the ways we step out of the boat into the stormy dark sea, trusting that he is a few feet away with arms out stretched to steady us.we may have to move through the uncertianty for a while, but as we continue forward the arms are surely there.i have learned that any money or resources let go of in trust and love returns in abundance.
  12. welcome, pink! sorrows are hard to bear, but remember that the love we have for each other never dies, and we have a sure promise of being reunited with those who leave here first. my dad died just a year ago from cancer, and im taking care of my mom in her decline now. talking about the feelings can help, a sorrow is lighter when shared.
  13. the mild effect of non cultivated marijuana used in an inscense could create a receptivity to visions, primarily through our neurochemical systems. heavenly father works through the holy spirit in us,creating visions as we are carried away by the spirit, through dreams, the still small voice, the presence or ministering of angels, the burning in the bosom, ect. there is a difference in the other worldly drifting of thought that comes from psycoactive substances and the true manifestations of the holy spirit. i think that often times in articles published now there is an effort to put the gospel into a worldly context, as if it is nothing more than a progressing cultural group think. in this, the authors deny the reality of a real heavenly father who has his loving hand in our lives and uses the priesthood to act under his guidance here. if an author caused us to atribute moses visions to the action of a drug, then what he was told could have been done by anyone, without the need for priesthood, righteousness or actualy seeking father for what he wants.
