  1. Obviously he doesn't have to. However if people didn't pay to see his acting talent, he'd be nothing. Yes I know they didn't pay to see just him, but he plays a big part in the movies he's been in. I saw RM, because of him. His acting talent, mixed in with a decent story line, was the reason I watched RM. I think he owes it to those that have spent their money to see him. So, again, he doesn't have to, he doesn't "owe it to us." But where we are the ones that fuel his bank account, I think it would be at least courteous to those that put money in his bank account to explain why he has done something that is a complete 180 from the previous projects he's done. That'd be like your CEO asking everyone to buy a product from the competition, you'd definitely want an explanation.
  2. Ah, got it.
  3. This is why I'd like an official statement from Kirby. I'd like him to honestly tell the LDS general public if it was a matter of prayer, or just an instance where he was approached with a large sum of money and took it. He's making residual income every time one of his movies/CD's are bought/played on TV. I highly doubt he's hurting for money. So I think the argument "he needed to put food on the table" falls flat on it's face. ::EDIT:: We all know the Lord set the rules and will tell people to do rather unorthodox things: Nephi beheading Laban, etc.
  4. You are probably correct that someone took the liberty of updating Heyborne's profile. What does the cousin of a TV celebrity have to do with Heyborne in a beer commercial?
  5. I have a better chance of smuggling drugs than I do of being in a commercial, that's why I used that example. It doesn't matter if it's illegal in the eyes of the law in my example, because encouraging someone to buy alcohol or drugs it's no different, both substances are denounced by the church.
  6. Yes, Kirby is free to take whatever jobs are offered to him, but you don't see me taking on a drug-smuggling job, for the money...or any other reason for that matter. I cannot see any other reason for Kirby to take a job doing a beer commercial, unless it is for the money. The consumption of alcohol is against his beliefs, regardless of his reasons for taking the job. Unless he's pulled a Richard Dutcher and is silently denouncing the faith.
  7. Kirby Heyborne - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Last entry listed. Just sent this to: [email protected] Does Mr. Heyborne have an official statement justifying to the general LDS population as to why he has lowered his standards by appearing in a commercial that promotes the use of alcohol, where his religious beliefs denounce the use of alcohol? Portraying someone that is living contrary to your standards is totally different than participating in something that encourages people to go out and spend money on something your religious beliefs denounce. Plus he's getting paid by Miller. It looks as if Kirby has sold out to the almighty dollar. Miller is probably paying him more money than all his previous po-dunk projects, combined.
