    What people use it for is irrelevant. What is relevant is that we have the technology to do things that people in earlier times would think miraculous, so, God, who is greater than us, can cause a virgin to be conceived with His own Child, to our great astonishment.

    Mary was a virgin when she bore the Son of God, plain and simple.

    Men and women were created with all the natural "technology" needed to conceive..it's called artificial insemination because it's just that...artificial. Nothing wrong with the natural way.

    The "official" doctrine as outline in the scriptures, which is our official source of doctrine, is that Mary was a virgin when she both conceived and bore the Son of God, and that Jesus Christ was the literal offspring of God the Father both spiritually and physically. With our ability to artificially inseminate, it doesn't surprise me that God, the creator of all things, can accomplish such feats.

    Not to get too blunt... but artificial insemination isn't used to avoid natural means...it's used when natural means don't work.

  9. Reactivating the Inactive

    Recently I noticed that although the Forum has over 16,000 members, only about 2,000 members are active. This got me thinking...

    What can be done to reactivate the inactives? The moderators could divide them up and assign them to active members for fellowshipping. Or there could be firesides in the chat room focused on the benefits of being active. Any other suggestions?

    I am surprised noone provided a link to the Articles of Faith

    Articles of Faith 1

    here are the 13 main articles and beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in their basic form. Anything else fleshes these out and yes the missionaries should be able to give you a pass along card containing them as they usually carry them in their pocket.
