That could be said about socialism as well (which maybe another thread I realise) So I found myself as a young single mother and the church teaches that a mother should be at home with her children. Well I was able to do that due to the welfare system. And I was so grateful for it. Also, when I went to my church leaders for financial support, I was advised to seek monetary support from first my extended family and then the welfare system before the church. So it cant be all that bad. As I prayed about it, I realised that it comes down to man not being able to govern mankind without righteousness based on the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then, I was led to 3 Nephi 13. That brought things back into perspective for me.
