I tried LDS.org and I am terrible at finding things. I was reading an article about LDS t hat provide foster care to children (liek myself). They mentioned in the artlicle taht the First Presidency in 95 had put out a message encoraging members to help children in this way. It is not The Family Proclomation. SO the first one who can get me a link wins the prize....oh wait there is no prize except my graditude! lol

Maybe because not so long ago I was unsure about the Church and NH cause that is where I am. Guess since I know for sure that this is the true CHurch and i have been baptized I should change my name to ForSureinNH

I have done this with our four and a half year old. I just feel like if I teach her now the proper ways to dress it will not be a fight later on.

I am a new member but have tried to add things to my home to invite the spirit. I have the Family Proclamation and The Living Christ over my kitchen sink! I read them daily as i mindlessly scrub my dishes lol. I also have a picture of the Sacred Grove in my living room that says "What happened here changed the World, Let it chnage your life" That was a gift from a friend at my baptism I had seen the same one on her wall and admired it. Also there is alot of Catholicish stuff. I still have a crucifix over my bed and one over my front door. Those are family heirlooms and will be staying though!

Snow....where does that notion come from. Also I am a recent convert from Catholosim and I am not taking down the crucifix over my bed one has hung above me my whole life. It is handed dwon throug generations and is part of who I was and who I am and it is all about my love of the Savior. All I can say is that anyone who is anti any other religion in the Church is missing the boat. Were we not told to bring our truths and let the LDS CHurch add to them. It happened for me and I would hate to see something as silly as cross offense keep other from the truth. the end!

thank you all so much for all your wee wishes. I was baptized yesterday and it was awesome! I felt and feel so clean and pure and light now that the weight and guilt of all my past sins has gone! I am being confirmed today at one. I just have really had a wnderful spiritual experience I am so grateful. A friend's mom gave me a journal as a little gift yesterday and I have made a pledge to write at least one line in it everyday for the next year as i take my first steps and live my first days as a Latter Day Saint. A title i am just so excited to have!

Yes I am also going to be confirmed Sunday

So i am being baptized tomorow at 1pm est. I am so excited and nervous

Wow my questions were answered in the second post and still this goes on and on. Thank You mAson for the well wishes and to the poeple who clearly read my question correctly and were helpful with an answer. This really makes me think twice about asking a question in this sort of forum. Maybe I will just PM pam from now on lol

if you go to the wikipedia link Mason provided you can see how vastly diffrent the ideas are under the LDS section and under the Latin Church section since I am ROMAN Catholic. As for your rude comments on what I may have missed out on as a Catholic mind your business. The question was answered why do you have to chime in with negative garbage and to top it off you were wrong. so have a nice day!

Hi all Ok I have a few questions that are not all that related to eachother. SO if you have an answer or can point me to scripture or talks that could I would appreciate it. 1. Eternal Progression...I understand the concept up to the point where I here people say that we will BECOME gods....As a lifelong Catholic till this point this concept seems very foregien and well blasphamous... 2. What is meant by the first resurestion? 3. When people pass away do they go right to one of the kingdoms of heaven or do they lay in some kind of waiting for reserection? I am not saying that I do not believe in eternal progression It is just a very foreign concept. What I do know is that this seems to be like dominos for me. I prayed if the BOM was true and was assured that it most certainly is. So if I know that then clearly Joseph SMith was a prophet of G-d which menas this is truely Christs church and that means that President Monson is surely G-ds prophet today. So thankfully beacuase I know these things I feel like I can believe any answer found in scripture or talks and know that it is true even if I cannot wrap my mind around it. SO please help!

No....sadly. He listened to the missionaries when they first came and he plays church basketball some saturdays but he has never come ot church with me. He has told me that he will see where I am with all this in a year so not to nag him about anything before then. I do occasionaly play hide the pamphlet with him lol! I put the plan of salvation in his book or lunch t hat he brings to work etc! I pray everyday that his heart will soften and he will accept and love the gospel and the church as much as I have come to.
