  1. You give everything to Jesus and it starts with yourself. As far as earthly things, here is an example. I used to buy most anything I wanted without thinking twice. Now, when I buy I ask "how does this help the kingdom of God"? Do I really need this? Would it be better spent with the church, charity or maybe a needy neighbor. The personal relationship is all about giving and works and love and forgiveness. It is all those things that you discount. It is of God and it is perfect. I have opened to you what I believe and I respect your side. I hope one day you can feel what I feel. It is true and real. Jesus in me.
  2. In John 17:22-26 Jesus said "And the glory which thou hast given Me I have given to them; that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, and didst love them, even as Thou didst love Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold My glory, which Thou hast given Me; for Thou didst love Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father although the world has not know Thee yet I have known Thee; and these have known that Thou didst send Me; and I have made Thy name known to them and will make it known that the love wherewith Thou didst love Me may be in them and I in them." Traveler, this is right from the mouth of Jesus. It does not get more personal than that. Jesus is in me. I can feel his love and forgiveness. Each new day I can feel Him steering me into the direction He wants. My life is his, my works are His works. Earthly things like money, power and possessions no longer interest me. This is His work on me. The big red flag you see may be a reluctance of wanting to surrender to Jesus. Sometimes our love for earthly things get in the way of what is most important, our walk with Jesus. You see, all along I have been saying that all you need is Jesus and it is true. Religion is earthly and man is full of sin. Jesus is the only way to salvation. Please do not get upset with the following. Is your religion standing between you and Jesus? ...and I don't just talk about the LDS religion, but all christian religions. Jesus is the truth. I can guarantee you this. You will not go wrong if you choose to walk with Jesus. Your walk is true, correct, loving and forgiving and no man can find fault in that. EVER
  3. With regard to beer and wine, some of the founders of the LDS church consumed alcohol. Joseph Smith and BY are included. Jesus is on the list too. So is Noah and many more. So what gives?
  4. Yes, you do know the spirit is there. You are a different person when the spirit enters. You think on different terms. The spirit guides and helps you do Gods will. I don't know much about religion, but I do know what it is like to be born again. Peace, love and forgiveness now dwells inside me. Thats it. The spirit brings those things too. I can rest in Jesus. I have faith in what Jesus teaches us and I know I can count on it. My life is no longer mine. I hope this helps.
  5. When I first prayed to Jesus to let Him know that I believe in Him, it was at that moment that the Spirit came into me. Since that moment I have been able to get to know Jesus better. (He already knew everything about me) It gets very personal. My faith grows each and every day. Now imagine what would happen if I should walk away.
  6. To me, blasphemy is the sin of ones fall from faith. In other words if you accept Jesus into your heart and get to know him personally and then you walk away and deny Him then you have committed blasphemy. I am not sure if I am saying it right. If anyone can add to this go ahead.
  7. Faded, thank you for this post, you are correct about blasphemy. It can not be forgiven.
  8. There is no such thing as worst sin. All sin is an abomination. Sin either is or is not. When we start to rank sin we start to legalize our relation with God and things start to get mucked up and fuzzy. Thank you Jesus for washing the believers clean.
  9. When I am tired or upset I know that I do not make good decisions. Let some time pass and then look back upon these events. Also, do what Jesus would do. Love and forgive. I do not think the church is the problem. We all need to love and forgive more, afterall, how can we ask for forgivness if we can not forgive. Good luck.
  10. Thank You Justice for asking this question. I have been away so I did not see the post until now. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." What this means to me: When you confess your belief for Jesus you are saved and will have eternal life. The first time you pray to Jesus and state your belief in Him the spirit will enter you and you are now "born again". As you can see, this salvation is not dependent on any works other than belief. You are saved by grace and it is absolute. The passage also infers that some will perish. To me, this is the seperation from God for eternity. In other words hell. For some reason most people who hear the "good news" will choose not to believe. Most people I know are in this catagory. They may say that they believe in some kind of god or that they are a good person and god will not send them to hell. I tell them that this is not good enough. I tell them to read John and to listen to what Jesus tells us. Most don't bother to take a look. This is why I say this, the road to heaven is narrow and difficult and the road to hell is wide and easy. I am sad to say most will go to hell. The thing about the good news of Jesus is that it really is very simple. You don't need religion or popes or bishops or pastors. You only need Jesus. In Jesus alone we find everything needed for salvation. We surrender ourselves to Gods will and works come natural. We can rest in Jesus. Thank you for asking what I believe in.
  11. I don't wear anything like a cross or the like. Jesus lives inside of me and is with me every moment of every day. Jesus in me will remind me enough.
  12. "Still out there trying to save the heathen Mormons" I do not save anyone. Jesus saves. You believe in Jesus so you should be saved. I am just affirming my position that we all sin. The title of this post is "am I sinning?" The simple answer is yes. "We know what sin is and how to overcome it." You can't overcome it fully. You will always sin. "You want to help . . . bring your intellect to the party not the self-righteousness." I am not self-righteous. I am wretched. It is you that claims a higher standard.
  13. Let me translate. Ummm, mod dudes...I don't agree with this guy so you should shut him up.
  14. Do you not think that the creator of all things can also protect His word? ...and is it not dangerous to start picking apart the bible or for that matter the book of mormon to disregard scripture that does not fit you life style and agree with scripture that does fit. We enter into a fuzzy belief system when we start to pick an choose instead of changing ourselves to comply to God's word. I believe the bible is true and correct. God has given me a testimony of this very fact.
  15. Thank you, it is very complicated and I respect your view.
  16. OK, so then why do some LDS members believe that Jesus is a god and not the God. I could really use a lesson here.
  17. I can show you a map with hundreds of real places mentioned in the bible. I can point you to museums with thousands of real articfacts that will back up many things mentioned in the bible. One question......the mormons believe in the bible just as I do, so why are you questioning the scientific evidence that support the bible? Are you trying to poopoo the bible to bring its real archeology to the same place as the book of mormon. Thats not even a rational thought. Look, all I am saying is that the bible has a spectrum of evidence that the book of mormon does not. This is not to say that one day the book of mormon might claim the same. The science is just not there yet. Thats all.
  18. Thanks, I did not know that. See what kind of stupid things us nonmormons think. I am not sure where I picked that up.
  19. OK, in a previous thread that I started many of you said that Jesus is a god but not the GOD. I can go back a get the quotes if you want. So above you say that Jesus is God. One more time. Is Jesus a god or is Jesus God. Just who is your god?
  20. If your read my post then you would know my answer. Here it is again....YES,YOU ARE...
  21. OK the use of the word "magic" is offensive and your friend was just trying to push your buttons. I respect your tradition, but I do not understand something. I believe in Jesus. I know that He will protect me from evil. Why do you need the underwear? He will protect you too, right.
  22. Are you sinning? I did not even read your post and I know your answer. Yes you are and so am I and so are they. But, Jesus paid for all your sins. Even the ones you have yet to do. Believe in Jesus, believe that he died for your sins and his blood washed you clean. Repent.
  23. Snow you are wrong. Go to The Exodus Decoded and see what science has on the exodus. Here is just a sample, In the Exodus Decoded we analyze the latest archaeological findings and scientific papers; we explore the dusty back rooms of out-of-the-way libraries and museums around the world; and we track down dozens of forgotten relics and ancient documents. Individually, these findings are historical curiosities. Together they tell the true story of the Exodus Google exodus decoded and look for the 93 minute show. It will open your eyes as to just how much real evidence science has found. Way too much to print here. Make an effort and take a look. Lets be true to ourselves.
  24. The bible has thousands of thousands of real science to back it up. Known places, names, geography that can fill volumes. The book of mormon does not. YET and I repeat Yet. Lets keep looking. Lets be real and true to ourselves.
  25. The exodus has hundreds of scientific evidence to support that it is indeed true history. Maybe in years to come the book of mormon will also be supported in such a manner.
