  1. I disagree, atheism IS rampant amongst the younger generation. I am 26 and all of my friends are atheist, everyone i knew growing up was atheist and many people I knew who were church goers are now atheist. I don't know where you live but you must be in a bubble, no offense. I currently work at best buy on the geek squad and have invited practically everyone to church. Of around 26 employees 2 other people other than myself believe in God. There is a plague spreading and I fear most members who live in areas such as Utah and Idaho are not aware of it. I also disagree on the "mystery", The Prophet could reveal things all day long and still not even touch the immense amount of knowledge our father in heaven has in store for us. Your words sound nice but they fall on deaf ears, this Is the age of knowledge, we can dance around the bush all we want, but if we plan on picking up our dwindling baptism numbers, we need to make a change now.
  2. Nice quote, but we live in the age of intelligence. If we plan on growing the church in a day when atheism runs rampant, we need to have these answers.
  3. I'm 26, married, no kids, 2 cats 1 dog. So I am not in the position you are in, However; I like you have been through the same thoughts and emotions. While I was on my mission I would work so hard because I knew all the many things my father in heaven had given me in this life and I needed to repay him for it. However, as a missionary you run into many intelligent men who cause confusion in your life. I would often describe my frustrations to my mission President who would always respond by asking, How is your Book of Mormon study coming? I always found this odd as he never actually answered my concerns, he would reflect them towards my study and explain to me that doubts would never enter my mind as long as i continued to read the scriptures and pray about them often. To this day, as the Elder's quorum president in my family ward, i have doubts from time to time, and I always remind myself to read the Book of Mormon and pray and everytime I recieve the confort in my heart that what I am doing is right. The Book of Mormon is the most amazing and most neglected book of our age. There is soo much wisdom within and I am confident that anyone who reads it's pages with an open heart will know over and over again that it was not written by Joseph smith, but the prophets of old under the direction of God. This is my testimony and I hope you feel it as i do. Love, Adam
  4. When I was 16, I was told by my stake president in a lesson with all the priests, that dinosaurs got here cause god created the world from other planets... I was blown away that a man of around 60 years old would try to feed such garbage to High school students that not only avidly study evolution, but dinosaurs. Several of the young men I went to priest quorum with actually stopped believing in the church because of this stake president. To say dinosaurs came from other planets when we have found petrified trees with mosquito on them with Dino blood INSIDE of them, is practically insane...Not to mention the thousands of raptern nests through out the world that were petrified by lava... We all know the earth is older than what most people say it is, hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of years old. What I don't understand is why the church does not have an official stance on evolution..I mean we have PROPHET, why doesn't he ask the Lord? Some may say that is silly, why would the prophet trouble the lord with such things, well why not? The prophet Joseph troubled the lord with things such as, will it rain today? Even in The Book of Mormon, Mormon himself asked the lord if the three nephites were in fact immortal or in some other state. The lord has never had any problem answering the questions of the prophets and I challenge anyone to give me 1 instance. Anyways, ya, evolution :) The church may never know.
  5. My wife and I are border line germaphobes, and we always sit near the front for this reason, so we are the first to partake :)
