Yes staple removers do come in handy and they are very inexpensive. They can be purchased same place you purchase staple kit for skin. Another bad things about sutures is knowing the size for the part of the body. ie. a 5/0 or 6/0 for the facial area, something thicker for a part of the body that has more movement. That info is available on line as to size of suture based on where you use it. I came across it once. But except for the facial area I think the staples would be more beneficial and more secure. Hi, I did a google on 72 hr kits and ended up at this site. First I would like to say I have the utmost respect for LDS. The research and practice of preparation for emergencies is astounding to me. The long term research that has gone into food storage amazes me as well. I have used many of the recommendations and I still search from time to time to see what can help. Officially I am Messianic : Jewish /Christian. I was noticing a post on 72 hr kits and just wanted to make a suggestion concerning suture kits. At this point in time it is possible to purchase the small staple kits for cuts that would normally need suturing. This is faster so discomfort time would be lessened and under stress it would be easier. Also, as a numbing agent I would suggest checking about ordering an anesthetic used by tattoo places from the internet. Just google it. Just a couple of pass alongs to anyone interested. Also, for someone injured with bleeding there are some stop bleeding products ie. celox. I know these can be ordered from Red Flare kits. Again, just a pass along. Peace and Blessings,Pamela
