Is it possible to meet with LDS missionaries somewhere other than where you live? I live in a barracks, and it's not the best setting for a theological discussion. If it would be permissible then how would I go about requesting it?

I stumbled across this site as I was looking into Mormonism (I currently have no religion). I don't know a great deal, but am interested. I do have one immediate question: if I was to attend a service, would it be permissible for me to wear pants instead of a dress?
