  1. Jason: Thank you for reading my book and taking the time to post your comments. I sincerely appreciate it. You have pointed out a few details that lead to a much bigger issue that underlines the bigger issue: Catholic doctrine is complex and sometimes quite confusing. Can you imagine having to read the entire Catechism to fully understand Roman Catholic doctrine? 99.99% of Catholics never have and never will. So where does that leave them? It leaves them reciting a creed each Sunday that tells them the Trinity is one in being, yet they are supposed to be distinctly separate. Having crawled through the Catechism myself it was a very painful experience that sometimes left me confused and having to synthesize a truckload of content into two paragraphs. Should doctrine be this confusing? This is not to say that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints doesn't have its own doctrines that are a bit difficult to grasp, but all in all I find the LDS doctrines far easier to understand and much more biblically based (my latest book "The Biblical Roots of Mormonism" points this out very directly). I love the Catholic Church and all its rich tradition. It does a lot of good in the world today. It is interesting to note that you cannot have a restored Mormon Church without the falling away of a Catholic Church. In that respect we are brother and sister in an odd sort of way. Keep up your good work Jason. Should you wish to correspond further please contact me through my website at Eric Shuster The Official Site | Catholic Roots Mormon Harvest. God bless, Eric
