I'm agreeing with those who are saying 'inappropriate.' It's a parent's job to say 'no.' That's one very major way of instilling values and morals. "Yes, but" just puts parents and kids on the same level, and has those parents impotent and bargaining with their own kids for authority and control. Inappropriate.
