Wow! Well since I know your not reading my mind I have to conclude that God is with you, since this is what consumed my thoughts yesterday and this morning, before I even read this. You can't teach any better than that. Thank You.

The Book of Mormon — A Treasure
Yahuchannon replied to Heather's topic in Book of Mormon Scripture Reading
Great Thread!!! -
When the sun goes down on Friday night till the sun goes down Saturday night is what I call the Sabbath Day and I honor it with all of my heart. It is the Fourth Commandment of the ten that God said would never change. It's a day that I like to plan ahead and think of something special to do with my Father. It's not a legalistic thing and there is no set agenda but normally I like to read scripture from the book of Genesis as well as Exodus and Dueteronomy. My primary focus though is crying out to God for a deeper revelation of the Lamb. I want to understand just how important his death... and ressurection is to our salvation. I cry out to God for these things as well as others. It's the day that I reflect on life and give God all the praise and worship He is so worthy of. But I'm not extremely legalistic about it and will also gather on Sunday with other believers from different denominations. I think working on this day can also be justified as long as I give to God's Kingdom the exact amount of the gross pay. So, it's more about the honoring of God and His Holy Sabbath Day, rather than being all wrapped up with the legalistic issues.

Sounds good. I think I may be able to find something appropriate to wear. The main thing to me is the fellowship. I'm not as concerned about the teachings or lessons or anything else, as much as I am about just getting to know the Mormons and how they conduct thier personal lives. - Away from church, do you fit right in with the world and like the same things the world likes? What kinds of music do you listen to? Do you love to praise and worship our God, or do you rather worldly music? What kind of entertainment do you like? - What is your prayer life like away from church? Do you gather at each others homes or wherever to pray on a regular basis, and for fellowship as well?

So I am about to visit the Mormon church here in Boise, I hope. I just arrived here yesterday so I haven't yet but look forward to it. What I'm wondering right now is: What if I don't have formal clothing to wear? What if I have a few differences in theology? Nothing serious but for example, I will allways honor the Seventh Day Sabbath. Keep in mind I will never try and persuade others with Seventh Day Sabbath observence or anything else for that matter but what do you think my experience will be in your fellowship. That may be the only thing accually, since I can't think of anything else. I will allways be respectfull to your obedience to the Mormon faith!!! Will I eventually have to become a "Mormon" and wholeheartedly submit in every way in order to fellowship? I like being "Non-Denominational" and there will never be anyone who takes presidence over the Holy Spirit when it comes to my interpretations of the teachings of Christ. So how do you think my experience will go? Of course I realize this may have alot to do with location - Boise, ID. We'll see, but I can't wait to fellowship with people who are so commited to our God. I really think this will turn out great.

Christ Made Clear Referance To The Modern "Sabbath Day"

I do appreciate your input on this and like I said the main reason I posted this was to see Joseph's writings on this, and not to persuade or disrespect. Thanks again. -
Christ Made Clear Referance To The Modern "Sabbath Day"
Yahuchannon replied to Yahuchannon's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
sorry. i stand corrected. i just feel that there is no getting around that sabbath day reference he did also say that the laws would never change even the slightest bit. also the early church did keep the sabbath. just needed to say that since i felt so heavily convicted. want to say more but on bus now...lol. be blessed brothers and sisters -
Christ Made Clear Referance To The Modern "Sabbath Day"
Yahuchannon replied to Yahuchannon's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Hahahhahaaaaa, why is it that everytime I ask the Mormon brethren a question I get answers that make so much sense? Thank you so much. If in fact Constantine wasn't the originator of this and the early church was, then It's good enough for me. It does make sense to make it the first day of the week now. -
I posted this same topic on another "Christian" forum to see what kind of responses I'd get and would like to hear your responses as well. I'm especially curious as to what Joseph Smith said concerning the Sabbath Day. Surely God would have cleared this up for him. Here is my main point. "I know that Christ rebuked the Pharisees for thier accusations against him working on the Sabbath Day but he never denied the Sabbath Day or said that anything was going to change about it. In fact when asked how to recieve eternal life he often spoke of obeying the Ten Direct Commandments of God. In response to them the only thing he said was things like, wouldn't you rescue your ox, or, haven't you read - it's ok for the priests on duty to work on the Sabbath Day. Perhaps the most evident scripture from Christ himself of the modern day Seventh Day Sabbath is: Matthew 24 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. Why did the Sabbath Day change? Constantine changed it, and He accually ordered the deaths of those who refused to change to the first day of the week instead of the seventh. Now, who are we supposed to follow - Christ or Constantine? Just the fact that Constantine ordered the Seventh Day Sabbath keepers deaths tells me he didn't even know God." Be Blessed, Yahuchannon

I really enjoyed reading that brother. This is indeed a very hard to transition to faith - to be a god - but, my master does remind me of the scriptures. The first thing that comes to mind are the words of Yahushua himself when he quoted the Psalms, which clearly say that some "leaders" of His people are "gods". In fact, God Himself calls them gods. I think it is extremely important to realize that we will never be worshipped though and it is only the Big G that will ever be worshipped. Agree?
