  1. Big lizard burgers, mmmmm... yummy. Seriously though; one of the fun things about the scriptures regarding evolution is that G-d never left detailed descriptions of how the Earth was created other then to say: "I did it!" H- only left a statement of fact. It is then up to believe it. The scriptures, including the various creations accounts included therein are only texts of faith, not science. I like evolution (it's funny mostly) and recognize that it is constantly changing as scientists continue to explore how it all came to be. Now let's see; Noah lived only a few thousand years ago and the dinosaurs died out (smushed by a big space rock) a bunch-a thousand years ago. I don't think Noah had the chance to put them aboard or other wise he would have built a bigger boat. Aaron the Ogre I would actually like to know if everyone actually believes that Noah was able to gather 2 of every living thing on the planet, and if so, how do you explain this "impossible" feat.....heck, just looking at the bugs in my garden makes me wonder.
  2. the only problem with carbon dating is they find skeletal remains and claim it 3\4 monkey man from 20,00000 bc and he is a link between us and the ape, when in fact he can't be more than 7000 and just has a promanent brow bone. thank you for all the answers. they have been a help, i appreciate it. I personally believe that carbon dating is real and that the age of the earth is in fact as old as the scientists say. The whole 7k year thing is a silly interpretation of bible lineage taken too literal. I also believe that evolution exists. My personal belief if that Heavenly Father had a plan and he executed it.....however long it took him and however he did it is up to him. I read a quote from one of the past presidents of the church that said something along the lines of: " It is not our goal to decide how old the earth is, it has nothing to do with the plan of salvation. We leave the dating of the earth to the scientist, biologists, etc.". I find that if you look hard enough you will find that creationism can go hand in hand with what scientists have been saying for some time.
  3. That is how I understood it as well. They were simply, after being driven out of Missouri, trying to establish friends in Illinois so that they could have people outside the faith that would help them in need. It is even averred that Joseph's last cries out of the window at Carthage (My Lord, My God) was a call to the Masons in the crowd to save him. That may be a faith promoting rumor, and I'm not sure on that... Rumour has it that he called out something along the lines of ".........is there no help for the widows son" or something similar, and was a call to any masons in the group to help him. As for the masonic similarities, I understood that connection to be a result of the temple of solomon. I may be wrong, but dont the masons claim to have roots clear back to the temple of solomon?
  4. I would first like to say hello to all as this is my first post.....so hello. The other thing I would like to do is ask where the true gospel discussion is in this thread. I came on here to read some oppinions based on GOSPEL and all i am seeing is personal oppinion about healthy eathing and a few recipes. This thread doesnt seem to be very gospel based which is what I would expect to see in a gospel disscussion forum...anywho, does anyone have anything else about the gospel and eating too much meat. I have often wondered this myself when asked if I follow the Wow. If I were drinking coffee I would feel inclined to say that I am not, but does it not also make sense to say you are not following the wow if you are not using meat sparingly? Thoughts?
