  1. No need to apologize! I didn't think anything like that of it. I certainly didn't feel like you trivialized it at all. No hard feelings at all! So glad you are a year and a half strong! That's fantastic! As you can agree, the decision to convert is certainly a choice that can never bring regret!
  2. I appreciate that advice! I guess sometimes I just get a little ahead of myself :-) I am a convert as well Spartan117! This month marks 4 years of membership in the church! Thank you guys for your recommendation.
  3. I am currently filling out my mission papers! But, alas, in a couple years, that experience will end and I will be making a forward march to college. SO, here's my hold up: I have been accepted to both Provo and Idaho. Both are fantastic schools. I really like Idaho. However, I am concerned where I could end up depending on where I go. I want to be a technical math/science major. I want to go to grad school. With BYU-I programs being very new as they became a 4 year institution in the late 90's, would it be looked more down upon by grad schools and employers just because Idaho doesn't have the 100+ year establishment and prestige that BYU has? Would I, in the end, have more opportunity if I pursue studies at BYU? Don't get me wrong, I love both of these schools. I would be ecstatic to be at either one. I just want to be sure that I am doing the absolute right thing for myself and my future! Thank you for your thoughts!
  4. Okay, so this was a surprise to my Bishop too. It's now six months until my 19th birthday. My bishop has opened up the missionary application for me. I can officially submit that application 120 days, or about 4 months, before my 19th birthday (or availability date). So application opens at least 6 months before and it's submitted 4 months before. Hope that helps anyone who may have had the same question!
  5. When is the earliest mission papers for a currently 18 soon to be 19 guy can be submitted? I have heard 90 days and 120 days before 19th birthday and I am not sure which is correct. Also, is this strictly the date to submit the finished package or just the date my bishop can actually open my account? Thank you!
