  1. Well, the fingernails on a chalkboard may be taking it a little too far, but the comment is appreciated. I'll quote him to explain things a bit. "...There were a lot of things that I wanted to fix, like some flat notes, bad harmony, poor recording environment, etc... But ultimately I ran out of very limited free time in a place without a ton of background noise, and made the decision to put it together the best I could with my zero experience in mixing music. With those limitations, I'm proud of how it came out, and glad she loves it! Maybe someday soon I'll get a chance to redo it and make it sound the way it should." I know what you're thinking. Limited free time and bad recording environment in Afghanistan in a war zone? Nonsense. I still think it's great, and inspiring. I say, keep up the great work!
  2. People, come on. This is the stuff that Facebook is made for! Someone made an offensive, hurtful gesture where none was warranted. She passed it on as a little story like we all do to our friends and family in the year 2012, because it was an interesting event in her life, and one that had a personal cut to it. What happened from there was not her fault. If other people thought it was interesting or shocking enough to comment on and share, that's because it was again, an interesting event. It's not like it's some group out to get us Mormons and make us look bad... A huge chunk of, if not the majority of the people outraged by it and passing it on are LDS. I can't find the post that I saw it on right now, but the LDS friend that shared it said something simple like, "Really? I thought we were past this". The Church didn't do this, BYU didn't even do this. Anybody pretending that she was attacking either didn't read the post, and instead got caught up in some of the negative comments. BYU doesn't need "Mop Up" units, it does what it does well, and will be just fine. Same goes for the Church.
  3. I posted this a couple days ago inside a different thread, but I thought while I'm here, I'll give it its own thread! This video was made by a friend who's in the Army, currently in Afghanistan. It's for his wife, and I thought the song was so sweet, that I am sharing it for him, hoping more people get a chance to let the tow of them know what they think of it. Check it out, comment on it on Youtube, and also let others here or in other places know what you think about it so that they will check it out. Messages of love like this should be spread around! :):):)
  4. Man, this thing has been making the rounds. Saw it on Facebook a couple days ago. Really, it's terrible. I cannot believe what happened. What was she thinking? Oh wait, just kidding!
  5. Okay, so I'm new here... But this is a big deal, huh?
