I'm not a mormon, but whenever I drive to the airport I pass the big temple outside D.C. Its very spectacular. I know a little about what happens inside, baptism for the dead, marriages, sealing. But what is the experience like? Can you tell me what happened the last time you went to the temple?

I'm not familiar with him at all. Can someone explain who he is and what significance he plays in mormonism?

So if I understand correctly, in the Temple one can perform a sealing where one's family becomes sealed to eachother for eternity. Why is this necessary? By that I mean, why don't families come pre-sealed?

We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisaical glory.

I'm 22 years old, male. Lately I've felt a yearning to be religious. But I don't know where; the LDS church is pretty intriguing. Over the next few weeks I'll probably be in an out asking a lot of questions.
