  1. The_Jason..Elphie was saying that when someone refers to the state of Utah, they should not capitalise the word state but people often do as in..the State of Utah...

I'm aware of that now, but she prefaced it by saying Utah shouldn't be capitalized. She said "capitalizing words that shouldn't be capitalized" instead of "not capitalizing words that should be capitalized."

It didn't make sense the way she worded it.

  2. congrats my friend!!!! i wonder how many posts i have.... how do i tell? oh wait! there's a counter somewhere....i know. now what did i do with it?! and i just wanted to say that i, for one, have very much enjoyed everything you've had to say...even if i didn't agree with all of it and called you a big meanie... you know i only said it out of my great love and respect for you!! ;)

SUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How ya been? FYI, look at the top right corner of your last post. It says how many posts you have.
  3. Forgiving her does not mean you have to take her back. Infidelity is pretty much an inpardonable sin in a relationship, depending on how far it went. The decision is yours whether or not to take her back. You are obligated to forgive her. You aren't obligated to trust her.

  4. To be honest, I'm worried that your focus is in the wrong place right now. You wouldn't be the first guy who was "tempted" by a girl right before his mission. Be wise.

The time and place (I think) for romantic involvement like this, is AFTER your mission. Until then, girls are a distraction.

You will do what you want, of course, but I thought I would share my immediate impressions after reading your post. I am sure she is a wonderful gal -- just hold-off on the serious dating and engagement. Stay friends. If it is meant to be, she'll be there when you get home! I promise!

    Well said, Thomas.
  5. It sounds to me like you are jumping the gun a bit. I understand having feelings for someone you met online, but becoming engaged, especially if you plan on serving a mission? That just doesn't make sense to me. You've been talking online and on the phone for 5 months, but you still don't know each other. If you two are meant to be then she'll be there when you return. Your focus right now should be on your mission and nothing else. Plus, you don't want to risk doing something that would prevent you from serving, do you? I'd suggest you both stay where you are until after your mission. There's too much at stake for you to be doing things backwards.

  6. That is what I originally assumed, but there are many Mormons who do not dispute evolution. Since Genesis and evolution appear to be mutually exclusive theories, I was just asking for come clarification.

There are many Mormons who believe abortion is acceptable too. That doesn't make it so. When investigating beliefs of the Church, look to the written scriptures and the leaders, not your ordinary run of the mill member.
  7. Did you report it Jason? Because I didn't see a reported post.

Nope. There are enough mods in this place who visit the forums often. Between them there should be someone who notices it and takes care of it. I shouldn't have to report it to get it fixed. A mod no doubt has already seen it.
  8. This is the very thing I'm talking about.

"Furthermore I am under the impression that the Mormon Doctrine greatly goes against the teachings of the Bible.

I witnessed to two Mormons the other day. Their minds changed on Mormonism. My friend and his Historian father-in-law got two Mormon missionaries to cry because they found the truth. I am asking that all of you hear me on this and open your hearts to the truth, that is the Bible is all Truth and Book of Mormon was forged by a man, not inspired by God."

Tell me that's not contentious or anti.
