  1. I got my first calling on Sunday. I have only been a member for 2 months and they have called me to be on the Relief Society Enrichment Committee! I am so excited to be a part of such a wonderful group of women! :) I can't stop smiling!

  2. I am totally confused about this change but I will learn to deal.

A little bit about me. I am 24 years old from sunny Southern California. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 8 months. :) I work at a public library and love it! I was recently baptized on November 17th and have found it to be the most wonderful (and sometimes confusing) decision in my life. My family is of many different faiths and left me to my own devices...so I married a member and he helped me out. I have wonderful missionaries that put up with my many questions and are very patient with me. I am happy to be amongst people who respect each others views and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!

  3. I love learning about the gospel and growing my testimony by hearing from other members of my ward. I love knowing that everything I learn is true! I get great comfort knowing that I am a Daughter of God. :) The sense of family I get from the people around me...they are my family. I love that my husband and our children can be together for all eternity and not just until "death do us part." I would keep going for days...I love EVERYTHING!

  4. Welcome! My story sounds similar to yours. My family did not practice any particular faith, they left it up to us kids what we wanted to do. My brother and I never really choose what faith we wanted to be. I started dating my now husband 5 years ago. His whole family are members (4 sons, three married members, last one married me) and they are wonderful. I started learning about the church through them and they never pressured me to join. My husband and I had already agreed that our children would be raised LDS even if I never joined, but I did. 7 months after our wedding, and 6 months after starting to go to church I was baptized by my husband. My baptism was pretty quick since I was sure that this was right for me, but some times it will take a while for someone to know that this is really what they want to do. I hope that you find the answers that you are waiting for. Feel free to ask any questions and we will be happy to answer them. :) Glad to have you here!

  5. I was super nervous! I told the Relief Society secretary who asked me to say the prayer that I would try. After I was finished one of the sisters told me it had sounded like I had been praying for years (I am a recent convert). It made me feel so good! The same day my husband passed sacrament (he is making himself worthy of the Mel. [don't know how to spell it] priesthood), I was so proud of him. :) The blessings in our life have been numerous!

  6. I commend you for wanting to learn about the religion that your girlfriend grew up with. It is a way of understanding her better, I know, I married a member. All his brothers are members, they married life long members, then he married me. For a while it was a rocky road until I started learning about the LDS faith. I asked his brothers and sisters-in-law questions, they answered them. I went to Church and they welcomed me with open arms. I didn't join the Church until 7 months after I married my husband, and it was just the right time for me. What you need to do with your girlfriend is sit down and ask her how important her faith is to her. My husband was inactive until after our marriage because he realized what a difference it made in his life, and that might be the same for her. It may take your willingness to learn about her faith to bring her back to where she needs to be spiritually. Talk, Talk, Talk...that is my advice. If you are doing sinful things, stop! You need to get to know her and what she wants in life before you travel that road. My husband and I waited until our wedding night to express our physical love for each other and it was worth the 4 1/2 year wait.
