Winnie G Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 We are having trouble getting a reply from the brother in the bishop-brick who handles the tickets for conference, we have asked and he has never gotten back to us. Do any of you know how to reserve some in Salt Lake for us to pick up or mailed to us. Can one of you call around for me and inquire? Thanks so much Winnie G :) Quote
Guest bat Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 I called Ed Decker, but he doesn't have any tickets. I'm all out of ideas. Quote

Did you try the Tanners? I think that the church only gives conference tickets to active "anti-mormons". The Tanner's are retired.Maybe I should try Kurt VonGordon. Quote

Guest lt Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 tell your bishop you will be in salt lake and he can get them for you or even your stake president. Otherwise you can come and stand in line early for stand by tickets. Quote

Winnie G Posted September 13, 2004 Author Report Posted September 13, 2004 A call came in from a young man who served in our aria on his mission, in Nova Scotia he’s much older now. How a handsome red head is still single Ill never know. :) Any how I mailed him telling him we were come to salt lake and he phoned and said “Your not staying in a hotel Your staying with me” He said there was no why his mission mom was going to stay in any hotel” So we have a place to stay. That almost made me cry, there have been so many young men we loved along the way while they served their missions, so many we stayed in contact with all these years. I never know that we real meant that much. One friend I meet over 23 years ago on his mission in Alaska called to night saying the family is planning a BBQ for us when we are down. thats been a long freandship. This trip is turning out to be more then I could have asked for. The stake president called last night too, to tell my husband that he has set aside two tickets for Priesthood session and Sunday session of conference. Every day my husband says “so many days and a wakey” today was “17 sleeps and a wakey” Are any of you going to ether of those sessions? Quote
Guest bat Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Enquiring minds want to know: What is a "wakey" Quote
Winnie G Posted September 13, 2004 Author Report Posted September 13, 2004 (Being awake) It comes from our children when they were young, “ how long till Christmas” ? (10 sleeps and a wakey) Quote
Guest bat Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Ahhh, that makes sense. You should clue us in to these inside jokes so that we might laugh along. Quote
