bytor2112 Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 I was asked why the 1978 Priesthood revelation doesn't say.......thus saith the Lord. Also the 1890 Manifesto? Were these revelations or inspired changes? Is there a difference? Does the Lord only "speak" with the Prophet when the Prophet is unable to determine what to do? Quote
BenRaines Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Do the Ten Commandments say "Thus saith the Lord". For me I believe that the Prophet is the mouthpiece for the Lord upon the earth. When he speaks, living prophet, then those are the words of the Lord for me today. In a broad sense I would hope that if Christ were being interviewed by Larry King that the words are the prophet are similar to what Christ would say if he were giving the interview. I am sure the questions would be much different if it were Christ being interviewed. Ben Raines Quote
Captain_Curmudgeon Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Do the Ten Commandments say "Thus saith the Lord".No, but Moses claims that the Lord carved the words with His own hand. That's pretty direct. Quote

rayhale Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I might be wrong, but in all the scriptures, no prophet said, “thus saith the Lord”, but does that mean that they are not speaking for the Lord? No. Quote
