Peace,

Did you check the Church's website?

SALT LAKE CITY — Two new members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles – one of the highest governing bodies of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – were announced today at the start of the Church’s semi-annual world General Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The two new apostles are a native German, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, and an educator, David A. Bednar, currently president of Brigham Young University-Idaho. Each will address the worldwide audience during the conference weekend.

I like Elder Uchtdorf. He spoke at a stake conference in Newport Beach a few years ago. Our stake choir (which is actually pretty good) performed a piece with a difficult organ accompaniment right before Elder Uchtdorf's talk. When he got up to speak, we walked over to the organist, took off his lei (we have a lot of Polynesians in our stake, so stake conferences look like luaus), placed it around her neck, and then began his talk.

I thought it was an incredibly gracious gesture.
