austro-libertarian Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 I'm not sure you're thinking through the Scripture I quoted. It doesn't really apply to what God ALLOWED, it applies to what man DID.As to the D&C reference, when D&C conflicts with Bible Scripture, I side with the Bible.BruceCould you please explain how "what man DID" makes government a necessary evil? foodstr2 Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Man's government has never been benevolent. By NATURE it's oppressive (and prepare for the *most* oppressive government in US history, beginning January 20, 2009). Are you skimming my posts, or really reading them and thinking them through? Is that what you are saying--govt is evil? That I follow; what I don't follow is how it is necessary. Quote
foodstr2 Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Yes, that's what I'm saying. (Maybe my lack of higher education doesn't get the message across.) I don't understand what you mean by "How it is necessary". Since we've abandoned God as our "government", we have no choice but to submit to [a] man's rule. Bruce Quote
a-train Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Child Labor LawsWorkers CompensationOSHAyeah, none of those have ever benefitted any American citizen.Child labor laws are so funny. I can tell a person I won't hire them strictly because of their age, but their race or sex is out of the question. As a person who has worked in America since the age of 9, I thank God I didn't live among those who would discriminate against me because of my young age.-a-train Quote

All governments of men (as I understand you are saying) are evil.C. Therefore, no government of men is necessary. Quote
