kiwii Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Deseret Book puts out a CD by John Bytheway called "The Best Three Hours of the Week." I think you'd enjoy it, it's very good. (Thank you for your kind post. It meant a lot to me.) Quote
Guest JoshDwellington Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Yo KileyIzzle,I kinda understand your feelings, and yeah you've got to face some tough challenges in your ward.Ok, was in a similar situation not too long ago, and I'd wake up at 6 something in the morning then :- dress up- run to train station- 1hr ride - run to bus stop- 30min rideBetter ward !Different people, more youth, Spirit was there, I just couldn't know how long I've been literally struggling to feel the Spirit in my own ward . . .This may be a bit extreme, but I'm going to share one more thing with you :my ward was similar to yours, a lot of old people, all retired. Some were friendly and great, but some behaved horribly bad against some younger kids.Result ? after a few years of actively TRYING, we don't have any youth left at all.All the young kids left the church. When asked, their main reason is :fighting with the old guys, no matter what they did . . .If you're not happy where you are, and you know you've done everything possible to change the situation, then you may have to move on.Better to change ward, than lose your faith !Sunday = GOD = happyJosh Quote

mcthomas25 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Kiley this reminds me of a saying we always say. The Church is true, the people aren't. The ward I am in now is that way. It took forever for people to talk to us, and be friendly. And now that they are, we are moving. Such is life. Just roll with it. And know that the church is true. And don't get hung up on what people think about you. Cause no matter WHAT you do. They are going to have opinions. (I have to tell this to my wife all the time. As women in our ward are still not very friendly to her) Quote
